How does my selection in HR1 influence the rest of the questions that will appear in the Human rights and Labour sections of my CoP questionnaire?
The Human Rights section is custom to each participant based on the material topics they select in question HR1. The answer options for HR1 include a list composed of both human rights and labour topics. If a participant selects only labour topics they will not answer further questions in the human rights section.
Within the Human Rights section, seven additional questions will be posed regarding the material topics selected in HR1. Labour rights topics (Freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, child labour, forced labour, non-discrimination in respect of employment and occupation, safe and healthy working environment, and working conditions (wages, working hours)) are a subset of human rights and for completeness, were included in this question. Whether these labour topics are selected as material in this question or not, all companies will be asked to provide information regarding labour rights in the Labour section.
For example, should a company select three labour rights issues: child labour, forced labour, and occupational safety and health; and two human rights issues: freedom of expression and digital security/privacy; questions HR2-HR7 will only reflect freedom of expression and digital security/privacy. The company will be asked to provide additional details about the labour rights topics selected in HR1 in the next section (L1 and following).
